It's Official: GMC Hummer EV

Recommended Posts

Good Luck GM!  This could be a grand slam if it looks good, has range of 300+ and has good offload chops. Like it or not people , Electric is slowly taking over . This could be FIRST Off road based SUV that comes in electric .

The Car and Driver article indicates it's a "Pick-up Truck."  Based on that I wonder it will actually be an SUV.

I have a reservation for a Cybertruck but it's trivial dollars and refundable. Assuming the Hummer has a 4WD version with 400 mile range and 250 KW charging I'd spend $60K on it. Won't be 1000 hp but maybe only 600, LOL.

No one needs a 1000hp but I sure as hell want it..... ?

Yeah me too but there's this $ thing. I have a Bolt and it feels faster than it really is because the motor has a flat torque curve from 0 rpm to max and no gear shifting. Electric truck with a sub 5 sec 0-60 will feel like a rocket sled to the driver.

11,500 lb-ft of torque!

Torque, meanwhile, will come in at 11,500 lb-ft, GMC says. [Edit: it’s worth noting that the assumption is that this is torque at the axle, so not a direct comparison with the figures that most automakers are claiming.]
