Remote Start Problem

I had this same sensor go out on my previous 14. They had to drop the tank to replace. At least that's what they told me.

The main post was edited and removed so I am not sure what the issue was. But I find that the remote start from my GMC app works only 1/2 the time. I will click start, put my thumb print on and it just spins and eventually times out the next time it works and the truck starts. I can be inside my house 40 feet away and this happens. App is up to date, just hit or miss on if it works.

 

And the times it does not work I will take my keychain and use the remote start button on the fob and it works fine.

Does the app notify you if/when the start attempt fails?

Yes it does..... So you do know it did not work.

Sorry, maybe the moderators can close this -I somehow went from a search and wasn't paying attention and some how posted the question about my 2015 in this section, It was pointed out to me that-  "You're referring to a '15 and this section is for the '19/'20. Try posting in the correct troubleshooting section."

I reposted and ultimately, it was the check engine light that prevents remote start from working, no matter the cause. Mine was code P0454 from a faulty emissions tank pressure switch.
