GM 2" lift installed

Recommended Posts

I ordered the kit today, the dealer matched the online price and is allowing me to add the one inch spacer in the front for an overall 3” lift in the front. That should decrease the rake but leave a little to offset the tow sag when I’m pulling the dirt bikes to the desert.

What online price did they match?  I found mine for $1,069.00 with no tax and free shipping.

Yours was $10 cheaper than what they matched, I got it for $1,079.

I saw someone ask about measurements... here is what I got on my HC - with the GM Trailboss 2" kit installed.  Stock 20" wheels and tires.  Truck looks sooooo much better with a little lift.  The ride is great, as good or better than before.  Can't wait to get my other wheels and ridge grapplers on it.

Looks great! Any noise from the cvs with this setup? About to pull the trigger on one myself, is the RC level upper or lower mount?

No noise or vibration.  The RC TrailBoss level is a VERY thin upper spacer and a preload spacer that goes under the spring.  Ride quality is same as stock.

you have aftermarket UCA, I think you do but wasn't sure, and did GM install RC kit when they did the TB lift?

Stock UCA....balljoint angle looks just like it did at stock height and there is close to 3/4" between UCA and tire.

I had the TB lift installed a couple weeks ago....didn't like the drastic rake, so I had them install the RC leveling kit last week.  I think it's perfect now.

Anyone have any luck getting their dealer to install the leveling kit for them? The dealer I’m working with are being sticklers and arguing with me that this kit is a leveling kit...” no it is a 2” lift”... anyhow by the time I get this kit installed and then take it somewhere to get an alignment after putting the level on I’m going to be in it close to the cost of a king lift so I’m having a tough time justifying the cost. I know this kit will keep the warranty intact which is the biggest plus but are the extended cvs and the hassle worth it?

My dealer installed my lift and 1" of the leveling kit for me.  No issues at all.  I only wanted it mildly lifted and starting with the GM lift that was engineered for these trucks is a great option, IMHO.

Yea I agree with you on the engineered part. Was the level a lower mount kit? Seen a few photos of 1.5 lower mounts installed on at4s and the cv is awful close to the mount which seems like it could be an issue... thanks for the reply!

alignment is with any kit

find another dealer, the dealer I talked to farms out lifts to 4WP (but have a few more around)

kings are 2.5-3k just for shocks

GM lift should be under 2k total

TB cv axles can be bought for $300 if you want them for any kit

warranty is nice

TB lift has ton of rake it seems and not crazy about putting spacer to take out some of it

king set will eliminate some but not enough and heard not to crank em past 2.5 inches

I was set on kings too, cost and how much ill actually use it idk....I did get good price on em though but still more than a GM kit

but am sure kings ride fantastic....still not sure myself but in no hurry
