2019 Front grill wrong for year

Recommended Posts

As GM (and Ram) has done many times before, the old body style was carried over and sold alongside the new body style in limited trim and cab configurations. Ram called their’s the Classic, GMC is the Limited and Chevy, the LD.

No biggie, just order parts for a 2018.

OK so when you purchased the truck you didn't see it wasn't the new T1 '19 body style?

I bought the truck over the phone to save a ton of hassle dealing with sales people I did see pictures of the truck but did not notice grille, this is one of my work trucks so it is not a big concern just more curious then anything.

So you were looking for the T1 or the older style?  If you wanted the older style you could've probably made a better deal on an '18 if they still had some.  Just saying.

Seems odd. These new trucks look different from every angle a pic can be taken. You would think right when you seen the picture you could tell what style it was.

I'm with you. How can you not know what model truck you're getting if you saw pics. 2 totally different trucks.

The LD version of the 2019  Silverado is really a leftover 2018 model where they continued to manufacture,  running out their inventory of 2018 parts and assemblies into the 2019 model year. GM pulled this same crap with the next gen model '16 Malibus calling the pre '16 models "Malibu" and the post '16 models the "new Malibu". And as with the Silverado, when being sold alongside one another the older gen sold for cheaper.

Result is genetically different vehicles......The 2019 Silverado LD is a K2 as comparable a 2016-2018 as a horse is to a horse but as comparable to the redesigned 2019+ Silverado T1 body as a horse is to a zebra.

When I was looking for mine, my wife kept sending me links for trucks she found. Most of them were the old body style. She said she couldn't tell the difference. Drove me nuts!!

Similar around my house.  Trucks and cars are usually identified by colour followed by brand then approximate age ?
