KO2’s Continue to impress me

Recommended Posts

I'm liking those Michelin.
Was thinking of a street tire, this go round but not sure yet.
Thank you for education on tires

I have 8k on the defenders. Cost $1,500 and some change with road hazard from discount. They are 17" on my work van, so ive seen them in the rain on all sorts of pavement. They are awesome. That being said I have the lt version. Not sure if the comfort is due to my loaded Nissan nv2500, but they absorb the bumps good and traction is set with zero slip wet or dry. Really interested in seeing how they wear long term. Might just been my set, but they broke in after a week. At first they assumed manners of a low pro sport tire. Like very sensitive to left and right movement via steering wheel.

My budget is $800/900 out the door.

I do mostly highway driving.

But all terrain tires seem to last longer than any street tires.

My Ko2 left a bad taste in my mouth so I'm skeptical on A.T vs street/suv tires.

P metric vs LT. Urgghhh

The Michelin Defenders were originally engineered for higher torque vehicles and are imho the best bang for your buck, they’re not a good snow or OffRoad tire.

I didn't care much for them, but they did last a good long while. I finally replaced mine in December with a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W's and so far I love them. How are things in Beaver County? Snowy obviously.

It’s been a relatively mild winter so far, but there’s a long road ahead.  I may end up with a set of wild peaks at some point or general atx.

My dad has defenders on his 14 Silverado. They’re nothing special. Definitely not good in snow.

I’m not a fan of General but the Wildpeaks have excellent reviews, good luck with your decision and post up your results

Not good tires, avoid them. Hard to balance budget tires. They’re also narrow to their listed width. Much better tires already listed above.

Very little here in Nashville.

If it snow it only last 3 or 4days.

I grew up in SC. It hardly ever snowed. In the price range id go cooper. Reviews show wildpeak to wear early like ko2's
