2020 2500 HD High Country Issues and GM's lack of caring

Recommended Posts

That is rough! I wasn't expecting that much of a bath on the trade-in.... but I imagine nearly half of that amount was taxes and fees. Total BS that the vehicle lemon law couldn't be applied to this situation.

But I completely understand that the confidence wasn't, and never would be, there with the Lemon Truck.

Best of luck with your new truck!

9-large is a hit, but not unexpected given it's a current year truck.  I think the reliability of a truck that is factory-fresh and (hopefully) has no issues will ease the pain of the eaten money in short order.  Best of luck with the GMC.

No, it could have been worse.

The surprising update to this saga is that I had to stop by the GMC dealership yesterday. They picked up the truck from the Chevy dealership the day before. When I got there my salesman told me they had already sold the vehicle! It still had to go through service, but that didn't take them long to sell it. Of course when a 'used' vehicle only has about 4300 miles on it and it's the current model year (and I suspect they gave him a pretty good deal on it), it would seem like a great deal.

Anyhow, hopefully it will be smooth sailing with the GMC.

I thought they were still waiting for the part?

You would be correct. I don't know the details, just that somebody was looking for a Cajun Red High Country and they sold him my problem child. How they go about getting the remaining part is beyond me. I wouldn't think they would be able to do any better than the other dealer in getting the part.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... I'm as puzzled as you are on this one.

Most likely, the Chevy dealer will send the part to the GMC dealer when it arrives... the GMC dealer wouldn't need to re-order.  That's generally a condition of trade when a vehicle is disabled.
