OP you cant add the 4.10 gears without tuning, the ECM/TCM has to be tuned for the new gears. If you dont the truck wont shift right, thats not even taking into account the ABS system which cant be programmed by the aftermarket industry.

So if you want front and rear 4.10's then you are going to need to budget in a custom tune as well.

Guess its cheaper to trade in for a 6.2 and 10speed lol
I would of liked to have the 10speed with my 5.3 but for now Iam happy with the 8speed. I know I will loose mpg when I upgrade to 62lb mastercraft 295x70r18 but others are running 70+lb tires; which gives me hope. My buddies at4 5.3 with 33” toyo mt are 74lbs and 12.7 wide is averaging 13.5mpg. I think I can do better lol

That was my worry, not worth it then.

That'll be a very tight fit but some guys get away with it.  I might have 1/4" of room between my tires and mud flap with my 285/70's with a 2" level.  At 125km/hr (75mph) I average 14mpg.

6.2l/10 speed at4 here. With 20x10s and 35x12.5 tires, 4” bds lift (6” total) and a corsa cat back I’m getting 12 mpg with mixed driving. I can get slightly better if it’s all highway and I’m watching the throttle, maybe 14, but any hills will kill that. I didn’t buy this truck for great mpg, but damn a bigger tank would’ve been nice lol.

Agreed, it’s still 7-10k CAD to delete the l5P around here. I can understand the cost for the new/unlocked PCM but I can’t understand why it’s another $500 for the credits. Not to mention the custom tuning. I got quoted $2700 before any tuning is done.

The high costs are due to the relative risk they run due to how illegal it is. The government is coming down pretty hard on tuning shops that defeat the emissions equipment.
