AC options for a 67

Recommended Posts

I am in the beginning stages of my 67 build-up. The 67's cab is in pretty good condition. It needs rocker panels but the floor is good. It is a non-AC cab, but I have access to a Air cab that a friend of mine will trade me. His needs floor and rockers. Originality is of no concern to me on this project, but I need to know what kind of AC options are out there. I know there are kits for add-on underdash units for non-AC trucks. Is there a kit I can buy now that will use the existing vents in an AC cab?? I have none of the riginal AC parts and I would be starting from scratch. I will be using the compressor that is already on the 96 Vortec 350. I may look into adapting the 88-98 style box into the truck. If I can get it to fit into the dash this would really clean up under the hood. Anyway I am just trying to feel this problem out and see what you guys are using.

Thanks,

Jason :jester:

I did some measuring today and the 96 box may actually be able to fit, provided that I remove the original heater housing from under the dash. I will have to fab up the upper ducting to go on the box, but that should be no problem. If I can make this happen it will really make my electrics a snap. I can probably even put the 96 controller in the stock location on the 67. :D
