Tire pressure when towing

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 2500HD CC D/A. I am towing a 20' race trailer and Corvette. They way about 7000lbs. I have the stock bridgestone 245x75x16 E load tires?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks

I run about 50psi in the front and 60psi in the rear when I know I'm going to do some towing. Otherwise I run about 50 psi all the way around. My 265/75/16 Michelins (load range E) don't seem to require as much air as the stock tires did...

I tow a car trailer close to your setup and weight with the same truck. I've experimented a bit with different pressures but usually go with 55 lbs in front and 65 in the rear with the stock tires.

In addition to the weight distributing hitch the thing I've found that makes the biggest difference is a dual cam sway control.
