FLOWMASTER # 17328

Recommended Posts

I am looking for information/opinions from anyone out there with a 6.0 with the flowmaster exhaust # 17328. I mainly was wondering if there is alot of cab noise/resonance. I would like the truck to have a better sound but do not want to have excessive resonance in-cab while towing on the highway! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flowmaster is one of the best sounding mufflers you can get! I like it much better than stock or magnaflow. I had alot of in-cab resonance and vibration with the magnaflow, and now I have NONE!! Alot of this might be because I have the pipes going out the back now instead of the side. The Flowmaster sounds mean and not too loud. (although I wish it were louder!!) That 17328 is dual in and single out. My Flowmaster is dual in and dual out.

Eventually I would like to get that Flowmaster kit as well. I love the Flowmaster rumble for sure. I think it will be perfect as far as the amount of sound I am looking for. If I had the money I would get one now. Check out this site:

The had a clearance special running on the kit you are looking at last time I checked. Good luck with it..... :jester::seeya:

i got 2 of those, but don't remember the part number. mine are single offset in, single center out. as far as the loudness goes. it varies. when it's not running it's pretty quiet. when it is running it sounds like a stock car. don't forget to upgrade your stereo components.

Philmo, on your picture above, one of the mufflers says 42541, which is 40 Series 2.50" Offset Input / Center Output. The 40 series is the loudest muffler flowmaster has. AND IT'S BAD-A!! VERY nice setup philmo! :D

Here is what that webpage says: The 40 Series is the most aggressive sounding street and strip muffler in Flowmaster's product line. If you are looking for the original "Flowmaster tone," the 40 Series is the one. The performance street and strip muffler will also generate interior resonance within the vehicle. So if you want to really hear your exhaust system inside the vehicle as well as outside it, the 40 Series is for you.

thanks for the compliment jon. actually all i did was buy the mufflers. a buddy of mine who works at one of those national chain muffler/brake places did the work off the books for $120 cash. i think he did an excellent job. i'm not a bling-bling kinda guy, so the tips kind of threw me, but everyone else seems to dig them. here's a pic of the tips he put on.

My Flowmaster is dual in and dual out.

Jon, Did you use the stock tailpipe, or did you have dual tailpipes installed. I would consider a new muffler on my truck, but it needs to fit where the existing can is, because I want to keep the stock tailpipe.
