Get an adaptor harness like this. Don’t cut the factory harness. I don’t know what options your truck has. Look on there and select the appropriate options. If you don’t use the right harness you will loose door chimes and turn signal chimes.

Yeah, things to consider when buying a harness adapter:

-does it provide enough power for your new radio (some only provide an amp or two, some more than 10A).  If your radio has usb ports, you need a bunch more power....  If it doesn't provide enough power, you need to wire up a separate fuse & relay to power the radio properly.

-do you want retained accessory power (RAP) [radio still works for a while after you turn the key off]

-chimes [remind you keys are in ignition, lights are on, etc....]

-steering wheel controls (SWC) support

-BOSE or not (mainly if your truck has a BOSE setup or a regular speaker setup)
