Mud guard destroyed front fender

Recommended Posts

Though this sounds hard to believe, every one of our front ends shift a bit when turning and going into a dip. Why do you think over sized tire don’t alway rub until you go into reverse, ask a quality OffRoad shop and they’ll tell you the same. This is why I HIGHLY recommend a lift kit, not a level but a real lift kit with stock like angles.

. In the meantime I’m taking the guards off, and painting the holes they drilled for the screw in each one.

Before taking it off, I would go back to the same location and try to get it to happen again with someone watching or recording it.

I have a '19 Custom with 275/60/20's, tires are GoodYear Trailrunner AT. Haven't had a rub yet.

We don’t have the same mud guard. Unless I’m seeing yours wrong, yours is all cut out. Mine are flat across. This was an early build 12/18. Wonder if they changed them for a reason.

is it just me or does your door gap seem way off.

The standard factory ones are much smaller. There are a couple different larger splash guards sold as accessories. Sure looks like he’s got the ones below, which would have been dealer installed.

What’s interesting is that according to shopchevyparts and some other sites, that part number (84109902) is no longer available and has been replaced with 84649174.

The two front mud flap style options originally were 84109902 and 84109903. 84109902 (which looks to be what you have) has been replaced with 84649174, and 84109903 is still being sold.

Long shot, but I think it’s worth asking some questions on why the part has changed. If you indeed have 84109902, of course.

I agree,  the flaps on my 19 sierra are definitely smaller than what are in the original picture
