That particular part is rubberized but was the dullest and easiest to photograph. The hard plastic parts like the door handles actually came out better but for some reason the difference doesn't photograph like the experience.

Got a new trailer so I need to do the axle flip( put the axle under the leaf springs instead of on top of them) because my driveway is steep and it would drag bottom if I don't put some boards down. I've done this a few times now for the same reason. It should raise it about 4 1/2 " . I'll take some pics to show you what I do. Here's how it sits now. Looks more level than it is. Pics do that sometimes. [emoji3166]

I got it done yesterday , very easy job.

Pull the tires, loosen up the U bolts, pull axle out and put it under the springs. They make a new perch that sits on top of axle and rests on the original perch. Just square or all up then replace U bolts and plates with new ones and put tires back on.

Then I took it over to my buddy and had him weld the new perches and the big nuts that sit on the old perch. Done.

Sits exactly 4.75" higher.49666162760473c4bdc51df2c5acf4f0.jpgb9ec642deb8cb3315f6779b165ce4865.jpgfe828fa8cf557f356d5bde9b63170e3a.jpg0be1665d3467184392a89f3263133b47.jpg0fb4d061c7f7167b2a6ff979ee3d35c1.jpg6e74fed5e3d329c3ef9d6db57c8a9daf.jpg

Not too happy this morning. Truck no start. Had to jump it.
Put new battery in it good to go .
I replaced the Delco 720 cca with a NAPA Legend 790 cca.
Can't hurt to have a few extra when it's -30 in January.
It's only two years old this month,(10-18).
But the truck was built in 8-18.
WTF?
I'm thinking since this truck was a leftover that I bought 12-15-18 , the dealer had to put a new battery in it because the original was bad and it wouldn't start. Make sense?

Pulled the trigger on a pair of spacers today.

It's always bugged me after the lift that the front track was 2 1/2" wider than the rear. Even stock there is about an inch difference if I remember.

The McGaughys has 7/8" spacers on the axles.

I order a pair of Stahl 1" steel spacers. Same company as BORA. I could have got 1 1/4" to make it exactly the same as the front but 1/4" is not going to matter.

More stuff on order today.
I ordered a set of Longhorn Fab Shop traction bars.
The axle wrap issue has always bugged me .
I've never really floored it from a dead stop since I installed the lift because I know with a six inch block, it has to be " not good" for anything.
2" diameter, 72" long. Stout setup. Problem solved.

Still waiting for the spacers.[emoji19]20cf95e060d41b5c96f46d00d1fa9b71.jpg

I ordered a GM accessories Kicker subwoofer today. Got it for $527 or around$175 less than the dealer. Ordered it from Shop Chevy Parts.

It should make it here for Xmas.

So I got 3 presents under the tree. Traction bars, spacers, subwoofer.[emoji319]

While I was at it, I ordered some new door speakers.

Kicker from Crutchfield.

Now I got a full day of work installing all of this in the next few weeks.

I'm looking for a significant improvement but I'm not expecting to shake it like I have 2-12" subs.

Im thinking I might have made a mistake with the subwoofer I ordered after reading through a bunch of posts.
Here's what I discovered....
The stock speakers are junk.
They are paper. The bose speakers are exactly the same. Bose uses a digital processer to improve the sound quality using the same paper speakers.
They are made to sound decent with the stock radio.
Changing to better quality speakers will not help because the stock unit don't have enough watts. So you need an amp on your stock radio to give the door speakers more power they were designed to work with. Then the difference is night and day although some amps make the door chimes and turn signal super super loud. I'm pretty sure the GM Kicker with separate amp setup don't do that.
It has a separate 200 watt amp for the door speakers and a 200 watt amp in the subwoofer.
I think I'm going to order that one and cancel the order for the basic setup.3259866d052e27d821777d5392b2ce88.jpg
