Discounts on 2020 GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD trucks & extended warranty?

Recommended Posts

Supplier Discount Confusion.
I’ve been told that the Supplier Discount price is the price, and it’s better to just negotiate a better deal. Others have said that the discount amount can be subtracted after Dealers discount and other GM incentives. Example: $76,000 - $8,000 (Dealer Disc) - $2,000 (GM Loyalty) - $4,000 (Supplier Discount) = $62,000. Has anyone been able to subtract Supplier after other discounts?

What’s supplier discount? I know dealer discount and GM loyalty but I assumed GM Loyalty was supplier discount

GM Supplier Discount program allows eligible employees of GM supplier companies to purchase or lease eligible vehicles at a special discounted price below MSRP. Plus, you can combine the discount with most current offers to save even more.

They won't stack it.

I'm just a lurker, but when I bought my 2014 1500 SLT it was extremely helpful to know what % others got off their MSRP.

Dont forget to clarify if you are trading in a vehicle. We all know how the dealers work, they may take off more from the new truck but give you less trade in. Or give you more than your trade is worth but then less off new truck. So one person may have -12% off MSRP and another 14% off MSRP for exact same truck but dealership makes same amount of money.

But definitely helpful to know the range off MSRP.

It took a lot of negotiating, but in the end I ended up 12% off the MSRP on a factory order with no trade.  If I was paying cash and not financing I would have gotten another $1000 off but I opted for the special financing rate.  My price is locked in, however if between now and the time it arrives the factory offers better incentives (current incentive is $2000), I have been assured that I will get the better incentive.

They reluctantly gave me average trade value but only after I walked away and get in my old truck to drive away.

GMC Beaverton is advertising loaded DRW 3500 Denali's for $12k off (including the $2k incentive), so about 15% off.  I just talked to my local dealer, and he is working out a dealer trade for the one I want from that dealership (Beaverton has a ton of DRWs right now unlike pretty much everywhere else) and my dealer is giving me the same price.  I separately got the top KBB range for my trade.

It makes since though they need to move what they already have rather than get in another truck and not move their stock. Especially since the margins are not what they used to be because if the internet. This post is a perfect example. It goes to show you a lot of people sacrifice money for convenience and impulse. I wonder what numbers someone would find ordering through different dealers.

We checked eight different dealers with in 250 mi. WHAT A CIRCUS. Some dealers tried to sell what they had in stock. One said they needed a stock number before they could price it. One wanted to do a dealer search to find one. Two never heard back from. I built the truck on GMC website and sent them the link. Closest price was about $500 more and they had a $795 dealer prep added on??

Maybe because we weren't still 100% aboard another GM product and I had written numbers from several dealers on various trucks (RAM, Ford, Chevy, GMC) all configured pretty much the same, they all the sordid history with trade (2020 Chevy 2500HD High Country), I ended up with some pretty good numbers. Shockingly I kept getting $61K from various dealers except one on the trade (one offered 62,800). The final dealership where we pulled the trigger on the trade offered $6300 on the trade and beat their sister dealership 40 miles away by $2K simply by not adding in a "required" dealer package (consisting of nothing of value to me -- replacement of key fob for 5 years, nitrogen air fillups). The actual truck (with the $2K currently available from GM) ended up with me a 7.2% discount from MSRP. Not huge but seemed to be about what I got from everybody (except the Ford dealership, but I had yet to consider them as seriously as the others).

I think that's a pretty good deal. It all comes down to what your comfortable paying, and don't listen to someone that says if you don't get 20% off MSRP that you paid too much.
