Discounts on 2020 GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD trucks & extended warranty?

Recommended Posts

The one with the largest discount of 12% (at Holman) is a former loaner vehicle per the dealership website.

The one with the next largest 11% discount (at Courtesy) does not appear on their dealer website, but the trucks that do show there are discounted $1,501 from MSRP.

There's always more to the story on these supposed super discounted vehicles...

Here is window sticker from an unit like i  purchased.  Hope screen shot works, never posted before.  MSRP is $73,970, after the $1500 package discount. And other screen shot is of the dealers page advertising it, and this is today - with out the $2000 GM loyalty. And yesterday there was a $1403 Costco supplier pricing (just being a Costco member got me this discount).  So $8577 dealer mark down, $2000 GM loyalty, and $1403 = $11980 total discount. And I have Costco executive membership so i should be getting $700 Costco cash card. I left work early so i could go do paperwork, otherwise it would have cost me an extra $3400 today, and no $700 Costco cash card.  I'm excited to get the truck, but the wife is mad about it.

Here is my sticker and after all the different discounts I paid $68,500 before trade and down payment

Here are the numbers off of my purchase agreement. $3413 in rebates off of the $65403 cash sale price of rebates for a total price if $61,990 then my trade. And your tax amount would vary depending if you had trade or not.  No matter what we pay, as long as we're happy with the deal is the importantant thing.  If one were willing to travel to MN, Jeff Belzers in Lakeville has some pretty decent prices. I saw a Duramax High Country with high country deluxe package for sale, $59,999.  By the time i was gonna go look at it, it had sold.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I was able to find and purchase one but had to go ~120 miles away.  With the loyalty discount I was able to save 12%.  Just over 9 if you don't include the additional loyalty rebate.

Its a shame our local dealers try to rake us over the coals. I’m glad I could help and you got a good deal.

I just did paperwork on a 2020 3500 Duramax SRW, got it 16% off msrp. Thru my credit union i am getting 7 year/100k - $0 deductible warranty,- covers prettt much whole truck for $1900.  And getting the $700 Costco card as well.

I totally agree all those advertised prices  I see are for a in stock unit. Try to order a 2020 3500 SLT Duramax  DRW. I don't think you will see more than 10% discount.

there is always deals, just depends how long your willing to research and maybe how far to travel.....but interesting thought " if someone said ill pay you 3k, 4k, or 5k to drive 400 miles, 500 miles, 600 miles heck even 1000 miles would you do it?.....cant believe these 80k truck prices tho, wtf you all do for work.....1-1.5k truck payment, jeez

I had to blow thru so many ad prices it was crazy, I called em and they said yeah, well …...umm no that's not really what we can sell it for...…but in the end I did find one, just cant believe all ads is all

It makes since though they need to move what they already have rather than get in another truck and not move their stock. Especially since the margins are not what they used to be because if the internet. This post is a perfect example. It goes to show you a lot of people sacrifice money for convenience and impulse. I wonder what numbers someone would find ordering through different dealers.

Glad to hear you got the deal you were looking for. You are right 80k is crazy. When I called I got a sales guy that tried to give me a higher price so I called back and spoke to a sales manager and got the deal as listed. If posible only deal with managers and don't let them push you off on a sales guy.

As for affording the trucks here is how I did it. I had a ‘05 chevy 2500, someone hit me and started my mid life crisis early lol. I took the 21k my truck was worth and bought a 2011 f250 king ranch (I know but I did not like how plain the chevy dashes were and at the time ford had stepped up) so 65k msrp but paid 58k before down payment put me at $800 a month. Fast-forward I paid it off and kept it a few years more. So now 27k for my trade and 20k more down put the payment in $400 per month range. So now when this one is paid off and I trade I should have a higher trade amount and will be able to put less down or have an even lower monthly payment or shorter term and so on and so on.

Supplier Discount Confusion.
I’ve been told that the Supplier Discount price is the price, and it’s better to just negotiate a better deal. Others have said that the discount amount can be subtracted after Dealers discount and other GM incentives. Example: $76,000 - $8,000 (Dealer Disc) - $2,000 (GM Loyalty) - $4,000 (Supplier Discount) = $62,000. Has anyone been able to subtract Supplier after other discounts?
