downshift clunk in drivetrain

Recommended Posts

I have an '03 Suburban that has a hard downshift in the drivetrain whenever it shifts from 3rd to 2nd gear. Especially on the kickdown shift. It is not so bad when it is coasting down. I have looked for a TSB for this, but can only find one for trucks with a 4L60E transmission, not a suburban with the 4L60E.

Has anybody else had this problem? If so, what was the cause?
