Could this be the new dash??

I fully agree with you but those of us who want mid level, simple, practical and reliable vehicles seem to be in the minority these days.

Yep. I have had cars with every option for 15 years or so and when I found the Custom Trail Boss I jumped on it. It has all that I want and none of what I don’t want. It’s a truck, with a tough interior for truck duty.

One time in a loaded F150 I pulled my boat up on my trailer with my shorts in the water, hopped in my truck to pull it out, with a towel on my seat the leather was still ruined from one time. Never again. My wife’s car is loaded out with air conditioned seats laser cruise and all that crap. I drive a truck that is for truck stuff like camping, hunting, boating, etc. screw leather. I want hard durable surfaces, not cushiony crap that’s going to fall apart with use. I’m glad my seat material is tough as heck, like layers of carhartt material. It’ll last forever. Run a carpet cleaner over it, good as new.

They did well with the new SUVs. Wish the 5.3 output would have changed but overall new SUVs are nice. Still can’t believe they killed TV sir beloved column shifter. If the trucks still have to have the column shifter why not shorten it up like 3 inches ? Like the Mercedes shifter. Why does it have to stick out close to the vents is my gripe.

Well said. A truck is for doing truck things. Don’t want the interior to look like a Cadillac or range. I think we are increasingly in the minority though...

I have zero issues with the interior of my 19. I’m not overweight, have zero seat issues like others claim to have, I like buttons, don’t like big distracting touch screens and don’t need anything too drastically different than what I had before. GM may not be the best selling but they make a quality durable product that will outlast the other two. The Tahoe and Escalade interiors are top notch though, they look fantastic.

Why is it that all the manufacturers have all gone to a touch screen that looks like it was added at the last second. It’s almost like they completely forgot to put one in and just superglued one in as an afterthought. Personally I think that interior looks good but the touchscreen looks like crap sticking up above the dash.

Very true! Should be integrated into the dash so it doesn’t look like an afterthought.

What major differences are there between the 2021 SUVs and the T1 trucks? The dash is exactly the same.

The Infotainment screen is 2” bigger. That’s it. All the buttons are the same otherwise, they are just stacked in the more “car-like” SUV with more wrapped dash surfaces.

What ? The SUV interior is much nicer then the truck.  Nicest interior GM has made to date. Well see what new Escalade looks like soon.

I see what you’re saying - it’s the same cluster, steering wheel, same basic controls, just in different configuration. But the overall look and feel is completely different than the pickups. It’s much more inclusive since they all will have center consoles and the trucks do not all have them

Touch screen controls in a moving vehicle are not appropriate in my opinion. When driving, tactile feel and feedback makes it easier to do things without looking. If I have to tap down several menus to control things, I'm going to have to look at the screen - taking my eyes off the road.   I'm a tech guy by trade and love touch screens when used in the proper scenario. However, a vehicle dash is not that place - give me knobs and buttons for the frequently used stuff....

Speaking of frequently used stuff - the bottom row of icons on the infotainment screen should be programmable- I should be able to put the 4 or 5 things I use most often there rather than take what GM thinks I should have there :)

Agree totally.  I test drove the RAM Laramie before getting an LTZ 6.2 and found it was missing some things like like.  A big one was seeing the speed limit either in the dash or HUD (which I have now).  And with so many things buried in the 12" touchscreen, I could see it becoming annoying to live with.  The GM interiors aren't all fancy but they are functional.
