Bob Ross
Hi everyone, I searched for this but could not find anything. From time to time I get a strange noise when turning on my ventilated seat. The noise is in my mid to upper back area and sounds like a growling sound or a fan that has not turned on correctly. I've noticed it when I turn on the ventilation after the heated seat had been on. If I turn off the ventilation and then turn it back on it goes a way (sometimes I have to cycle off and on uptown 3 times) Im wondering if its a bad fan or if maybe something got sucked up into the duct work? I don't have a recording yet next time it happens I will try to record.
2016 Sierra Owner
Sounds like a problem with the fan. I'd let the dealer look at it. Definitely not normal.

Make sure you turn it on & have it running & then get in the back & listen - the sound may be located lower than you think while sitting up front. Once you know from where it’s coming, call the dealership.
