Windshield tint with the hud?

Recommended Posts

Anybody With the hud tint there windshield yet? My 2020 high country is going in for PPF and tint in a few weeks and I’m curious if anyone has tried seeing I don’t want to lose functionality of it.  Also anyone with 3M experience let me know what you think of crystalline and or ceramic IR. I’ve only had llumar. Thanks

I have 70% traditional tint on my windshield and it didn’t affect HUD at all. If anything it made it brighter.

I thought that in most states it was illegal to tint the windshield....

It's worth the risk of getting a fix it ticket.

Besides, if you stick with 60%-80% it doesn't affect your ability to drive safely. At least not in my experience.  It starts to get a little sketchy once you get down to about 50% int on the windshield.

Yeah, sure. I installed window film for like 5 years in Colorado. Almost all my cars and trucks have had window tint. Just putting 20% on all the windows makes it hard to see at night, then you tint the only glass that's uninhibited with the view. Can't even see how this is good.

So you don't trust yourself to drive safely in a vehicle with 70% tint on the windshield? You may want to get  your eyes checked bud.  Nobody cares how many tint jobs you've done.  There's TONs of people that tint their windshields without issue.

There's tons of people who believe Epstein took his own life too, bud.

Doesn't mean squat.

Hit a pedestrian at night and the lawyers will have a field day with this.

You’ve got a good point about Epstein.

I highly doubt there’s any liability involved with 70% tint, although this is something to look into.

I may be wrong, but I would assume that they would have to prove that you knew it wasn’t legal, and that it caused the accident.  A huge part of that liability would fall on the tint shop as well.

can you point me towards a similar lawsuit?

No I cant cite anything.

My wife has worked for her law firm for 20+ years and we have seen people get wrapped up in stupid suits over similar things.

While most of them went no where, it still cost people wrongly accused thousands to defend themselves.

back to the question at hand.....

I had tint on my windshield way back when with HUD and it worked no problem. Just didnt work with polarized sunglasses on lol

I can still see the HUD with shades on but it is a bit dimmer with polarized shades.  2020 AT4 - 70% traditional tint on the windshield
