Good to know. Thanks for the input on this. I still have the MBRP, but I’m definitely getting rid of it soon.

For the money too it seems to be the best I paid $487 with shipping. Took me about 2.5 hours to install on my garage floor.

Driving along from the cabin... no drone... just a smooth mellow V8 sound track when you punch the gas, and mainly the sound of wind and A/T tires when cruising down the road...

Thanks for making this video. I wish mine sounded like that. I can’t believe you don’t have the helicopter drone. My truck has the max tow package which takes away the dual exhaust. I have a single side exit. Maybe that makes the difference?? I dunno. I definitely would love to delete my exhaust like yours - yours sounds amazing. I may look into doing that.

My 2018 has the single exhaust on the passenger side, and it has a pretty loud drone.

Just an FYI to give some insight on the exhaust manufacturers train of thought on the issue - I called MBRP and Borla. Both gave similar responses regarding the helicopter sound. They blame that squarely on AFM and DFM. And want nothing to do with it. Basically they say it’s not their problem and nothing they can do about it. They guarantee their exhausts won’t “drone”, but they consider drone and the helicopter sound two different things. So when a manufacturer says no-drone, they won’t replace or refund for the helicopter sound. MBRP literally said “does it go away when you shift to manual mode? (Yes) Well there you go. The problem is GM, not us.”

They are right.  Their exhaust is designed and tuned for a V8, not a V4.  V4's sound like crap with an open exhaust.

Get a Range Box, plug it in and no more 4 cyl mode, no more helicopter sound.

Agreed. Are they making the disabled for the 2019 & 2020 yet?

Would be nice if they did soon. Like the guy in the video says, I bought a big V8 so I am not too worried if I get 1-2 less MPG to do away with the constant back and fourth. Its crazy how noticeable it is with aftermarket exhaust just how much it goes 2-4-2-4-2-4.....

Not yet, but they say they are working on it.  These new ECM's are locked down pretty tight.  They have been working on them for like a year now, but nothing so far...

Not that I want to spend $1600 for the inline ECM, but from what I have seen in videos for the HD Sierra, I think it would be awesome to be able to switch power levels on the fly with the steering wheel controls. So if they could make that happen for say under $1K that might be worth it just to have the streamlineness, made up word, of controlling it without having to have to stop, plug in, take 5-10 min reprogram.....
