Bang for the buck, then and now.

The throttle lag thread sparked an off topic conversation, and gave me an idea. I was fortunate to remember riding owning cars from the early 60s to the present. You could buy strippers with big motors. Something you can’t do now. My biggest thrill wasn’t my riding in my cousins GT 500 or my uncles 67 396-375 Chevelle. My other uncle showed up to my fathers house to race. A common thing in the 60s. His 65 455 Electra 225 was the measure then. A plain 65ish biscayne. I got to ride with him. Plain 2door bench seat 4 speed. I’ve owned lots of high performance vehicles. That’s a ride I’ll never forget. No nannies driver and car, the sensation of speed.
