Lowering Rear of 2003 2500 HD

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 2003 Silverado 2500 HD and would like to level the truck by lowering the rear. The blocks I bought say they are only for leaf springs mounted under the axel, mine are on top of the axle sitting on s 2” inch  welded block,  that look like they maybe custom. Can someone tell me if these are factory blocks or custom by previous owner? I would ask him but he has passed away and I bought the truck from his wife. Thanks,

That is a factory set up. If you want to lower the rear you can use a lowering shackle or a flip kit. Flip kit will give you closer to a 4 in drop in the rear, shackles can go 1-2 inch.

You could also build a custom perch like the larger plat on the left. This would require welding but would lower a small amount.
