2020 Silverado 2.7 transmission temperature

I bought a 2020 Silverado 2.7 turbo that has the 8 speed transmission. While driving the truck home from dealership I noticed that the transmission temperature was running 195 degrees with light stop and go traffic and country roads for about 20 miles. My 2019 Silverado 5.3 with 8 speed would not go above 160 degrees. Im concerned that once I pull my 5,000 pound trailer that its going to run even hotter. My 5.3 would not go over 185 while pulling the 5,000 pound trailer. Should I be concerned with these temperatures?

That is normal temp. No harm is being done to the fluid at this temp.

Stop and go will warm it more than steady pulling.

Torque converter slip during each start and accelerate, at the same time as the slow speed means the cooler is less effective.

Ok I appreciate it, just got done driving on the thruway and was going 70mph and it was holding at 197 degrees. I feel like the tranny temperature is tied to the engine coolant temp because it warms up really fast. I know the 2.7 has a faster warm up bypass for the transmission, I wonder if there is programing that can disable that. I will say this engine definitely gets better mpg than my 5.3 so far. Im averaging 24mpg so far.

There isn't any aftermarket tuning for that 2.7 truck currently. If something does become available like it just did for the 5.3/6.2 trucks it will not be cheap. Those trucks cost $1900 just to get into the computer. And it's tough to say if anything like that warm up feature is going to be something you could edit within the calibration.
