Rotational mass with rim and tire sizes

I am trying to find the weight of GM OEM wheels, particularly the 18" AT4 rims and the 20" Elevation rims. 

 

I love the Elevations 20" rims and am trying to figure out the weight difference between those and the stock 18" AT4 rim. Am wondering if there would be much of a Weight difference, 18" rim with more sidewall or a 20" rim with less side wall assuming its the same tire (Obviously different sizes) with the same overal diameter. I do not want to take a hit with mpg going with a heavier wheel set up. 

 

I just bought an AT4 coming from a Tacoma with 32" mud tires, I do not go mudding or rock crawling but I do tow a 1500lb trailer through old over grown forest roads and muddy farm fields gathering firewood.

rims weight difference isn't going to be the issue. The tire is going to be the issue (rolling resistance). 18 to 20's with the same type tire, you'll prob not even see a MPG loss. The only thing is if the overall diameter is larger then the stock set up diameter then its going to appear like you've lost MPG's.

The wheel weights I have access to are packaged weight, so take about 2lbs out for the box.  Tire weights pulled from Tirerack.com.  All tires listed are OE spec'd tires.

 

AT4 18" wheel and P265/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT: 

 

- Total weight - 66.06lbs

- Wheel weight - 31.06lbs

- Tire weight - 35lbs 

- Grand total weight per vehicle - 264.24lbs

 

AT4 18" wheel and LT275/65R18 C Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac: 

 

- Total weight - 80.06lbs 

- Wheel weight - 31.06lbs

- Tire weight - 49lbs

- Grand total weight per vehicle - 320.24lbs 

 

Elevation 20" wheel and P275/60R20 General Grabber HTS60:

 

- Total weight - 78.55lbs 

- Wheel weight - 38.55lbs

- Tire weight - 40lbs 

- Grand total weight per vehicle - 314.2lbs

 

Elevation 20" wheel and P275/60R20 Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT:

 

- Total weight - 78.55lbs 

- Wheel weight - 38.55lbs

- Tire weight - 40lbs 

- Grand total weight per vehicle - 314.2lbs

 

So the heaviest configuration is the AT4 with 18" wheels and Duratracs.  Lightest is the AT4 with the Wrangler Fortitude.  From the base AT4 setup to the Elevation setups, its 49.96lbs difference AT4 < Elevation.  Its 56lbs between the two AT4 tire options.

Other than where I pulled from (GM), dismounted and scaled is just about the only way to really know for certain.  Some diehards on the interwebs do take care of that for the curious however over various forums.  Especially the sportscar forums aka. Camaro, Porsche, Corvette, etc.  Those guys will scale the TPM sensors even lol.
