Just as I thought, it will never be able to be done on the stock computer. It's like the LP5 and ZR1 Corvettes, needs a new modded computer.

$1399 plus the 10 credits that cost $500.

$1900 just to tune it, plus the mods. Now people just have to wait and see if any of the turbo or supercharger companies will invest the time to make new bolt in kits. Magnuson was like damn near $6,000 for the previous models.

I mean this is probably a drop in the bucket for most people right, because errrrrrrrrybody has a $50,000 truck already lol.

Went through HPTuners website and it seems that currently its on exchange the ECM only. No new purchase of an ECM. No mentioning of TCM tune too.

I think through time, it should quite drop some.

TCM is same procedure at 17+ and additional if you wish to tune it. I doubt the price will come down much. We aren’t in the days if $500 tuning anymore.

I understand it is a chunk of money. But really it isn't really that much when you think about is. All new vehicles are loaded with electronics. And everything cost big money on them. Even exhaust are thousands. A cam swap is a few thousand with parts and labor.
With larger GM wheels its many thousands to replace wheels and tires. Trans are 3k for stock and 6-7 for the best. And the vehicle are 50k for a truck. Fuel systems are thousands.
Oh and the diesel guys have it worse.
There will.be more options and in time the credits will be included for dealers so they can cut customers deals.

I had BlackBear Performance tune my 2014. They can't do my 2019 due to the encryption..... When they get it un-locked or hacked I will be all over a tune.

Nobody is getting into the stock computer, hence why it took over a year to just make a new computer exchange service. The LP5 has been out since 2017, again the only way in is a new computer.

Don't expect black bear to get into that type of business. They'll have to switch tuning softwares to start offering these vehicles. You'd be talking like $2400+ US dollars or something close to that because of the $1,900 buy in plus the cost to have them do it.

Or just find someone else that tunes near you, then spend the $1900 USD plus whatever they charge to tune your truck.
