Easy method to disable start-stop?

Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly, but this GM article appears to indicate the addition of two fuses in otherwise empty spaces in the right instrument panel fuse block will deactivate the start stop function.

Done. What was the worst that could have happened, a tow and I get to knock the crap out of a loaner? Still have two more to play with in the meantime.

OK.   Two 5 amp Micro2 fuses in that location for 5 mins run.  Starts, engine runs fine but s/s light off and the voltmeter at around 12 volts and drops slightly with rear heater grid.

Here's my .02 guess. Silvy's use the DC-DC inverter system. Fuses didn't blow and no CEL.  Evidently start stop is inoperative because one of the requirements for auto stop is that the battery voltage be greater than 12v and the inverter circuit is affected. Prolonged lower voltage will likely introduce gremlins affecting other circuits. It will work, but not a practical or wise alternative to hitting the button.

Besides no need to play with any kludges. I've got the start sequence down pat and don't even realize I'm disabling s/s.  Use both hands and right foot to start the car and get moving.  Right foot on brake, right hand hits start button and then start/stop defeat and then shift lever to R, while left hits the brake release button and rotates the knob to Sport mode. Less than 2 sec. and ready to roll and no stinkin' start stop gonna bother me.

I too think it’s incredibly annoying to deal with start stop. There was no way to defeat it on my audi as they have some module that detects if you mess with it (i.e. wire button to a circuit that remembers the state you left it in) and throws limp mode. However, for these trucks it seems that method does work. There seems to be a couple of products that wire up to the button to provide it memory. Looks like a pita to disassemble the plastic trim, but I think I will go for it soon. I hate working on interior trim, because I’m a big clumsy idiot, but the start stop is too tempting to disable.

I know you can just push the button. For the life of me I can’t remember until the first time it stalls the engine each day. I’ve had this tech for 3+ years in other cars and still can’t remember. I really wish the mfgs would just make the button have memory like the lane assist. Obviously they purposefully don’t.
