What does your DIC look like?

Recommended Posts

My 2019 Silverado trail boss early build the main screen in the DIC had speed and distance to empty. The 19 LT loaner I drove, had speed, distance to empty AND time. My new 2020 Trail boss just has speed. Is there a setting someplace? I could not find one. What does your DIC look like?87e0d7fc6433b7356b691f444b4e56b7.jpg

Scroll furthest to the right in the DIC to SETTINGS.  In there you should see a listing for HOME PAGE OPTIONS.  Its in there.  Speedo, distance and to empty can all be turned on and off.

The expression "too much information" sometimes comes to mind when looking at my DIC!  I like that they are customizable.  I am curious as to what peoples' after sales treatment has been to prompt this type of questioning.  My last two Sierras were purchased at different dealerships.  On both occasions, the salesman wouldn't let me off the lot without a thorough explanation of all controls.  I know the excitement of driving a new vehicle may make such a tutorial pointless but I always read the manual after purchase.  The manual often has little gems of information that surprise the most experienced drivers!

As already noted, you can get the time to display in the upper right hand corner in the Settings. I did this on my 2019 RST right after I got it, and I love it.

I think the DIC is a little different for 2020's, though. I've noticed guys with 2020's who post their MPG screens on here, it looks different than my 2019.

So you have time on the furthest left DIC screen by enabling in the settings of the second to left DIC screen? Or are you enabling it in the radio settings on the 8 inch screen?

Mine looks like this... I made the edit to display the time in the DIC settings, I believe.

Now if only GM would have also allowed us to display the temperature to the left of the time!  But that makes too much sense.

Totally agree. I always think about that, and wish it could be displayed there. Especially when using CarPlay, where the temp read out isn’t available on the main screen.
