Converting 2003 Chevy 1500 LS cloth seats to leather

Recommended Posts

Currently all the seats are cloth, but have acquired  factory oem leather seats from a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 extended cab and a 2005 GMC Yukon. Along with the seats, I also managed to grab the heated seat controls for the driver and passenger side which will be plug and play once the wiring is done. My question is how do I create the wiring for my heated seats to work? I’m not worried about power that’s a simple positive and negative. And where do they plug in at? Also how does the heated seat control interface communicate with the seats to turn them on? I will have no wiring for the heated seats function due to the stock seats being cloth. Would I have to pull a factory wiring harness from a LT package vehicle or can I somehow rig my own wiring together? Thank you!

go to the GM upfitters page and download their manuals showing wiring harnesses/plug types/etc.

or just go to youtube and search it.  there are a couple videos I've found of people installing heated seats (some even using factory items) in all kinds of vehicles..
