What’s up with these idiots Obsessed with Rolling Coal?

TXGREEK

it's called SPS (Small Penis Syndrome)
lifted trucks, big tires, loud stereos and rolling coal. they want to get noticed because that's the only way they have to attract females.
if you do a little reading online you'll find that deleting DPF or tuning the truck to "roll Coal" is now a federal offense and the EPA is pretty sick and tired of this childish behavior and people are getting locked up and fined pretty hard.
just ask bully dog tuners about it..

Interesting and not always true. Being married to the same lady since I was 18. Loud music, fast vehicles, showing off, check. It’s called testosterone. I seemed to remember not too long ago a member bass mechanic I believe, supercharging his truck. SPS? Most type A males express them selves somehow.

Showing off is one thing, rolling coal is what I’m talking about, it’s stupid and an obvious menace to us all, affecting all of us and in what way is blowing toxic black smoke in any way a cool thing to do?
I have zero issues with anyone wanting to add horsepower to their vehicles as just adding larger tires will immediately take HP away from your vehicle, tuning helps in reducing consumption as well as adding mpg’s. Lifting my truck was a must as I enjoy off roading and hog hunting requiring it to be lifted, larger tires and tuner.

Glad to hear others upset with vehicles belching out black exhaust.  I appreciate a macho looking truck like they produce on the show "Vegas Rat Rods"  but dislike the builds that spew the black out of the stacks.  Not only is this horrible from an environmental standpoint but it reflects an engine that is in exceptionally poor tune or condition.   I wouldn't consider driving a vehicle where others can see my exhaust emissions anytime except at startup on a winter morning!

I think most of these punks have this disease known commonly as

Bigtrucklittledickitus.

Others have been diagnosed with an affliction called

Douchebag syndrome.

Some are cured with age, most remain in this condition for the remainder of their lives.

there is a big difference between being a car guy and making something fast, verses pissing off all the people around you blowing black smoke at people, lifting your truck because you think others will think your cool. lifted trucks throw gravel at the vehicles behind all because they think it looks cool. the fact is that most people just think they are silly teenagers.

Now admittedly my screen name Bass Mechanic had nothing to do with the FISH variety (BASS) but more the compliment of Treble and BASS.

back in the day i invented and was manufacturing a sub woofer enclosure called a "Power Mouse" which made a "lot of bass" in a "small space"

that was before i started in the insurance business.

but even then i wasn't about trying to piss off the neighborhood, just making an efficient enclosure that didn't take up much room. you know how they say sometimes too much of a good thing is not a good thing!

As for the supercharging project, i did that because Edelbrock made me a deal i couldn't pass up! $1500 bucks for a supercharger? sure why not??

in the end it was a disaster, they never could get it running right. never could fix the shifting issues i was having. they just decided it was "good enough"

and unfortunately for that truck, it went back to stock, i sold the SC and recovered my money. traded it in on a 2015 Denali and never regretted it. after that experience, you couldn't pay me for the headache of a modded vehicle.

Besides, i lease most of my vehicles for the Tax deduction so i am probably the last person that should modifying anything.

i am definitely a fan of Horsepower though, my daily is a 2017 CTS-V prior to that 2 corvette Z06's

now that I've hit 49 i've pretty much grown out of most of the need for loud stereos but i still like things that run on gas and haul ass!

i got my pilots license about 6 years ago and own 2 aircraft, i bought a boat last year (my first) and enjoy dirt bikes, 4 wheeler or side by side, fast cars, (apparently fast trucks) Sno-mobiles.

i guess if it has wheels, wings or waves I probably have one.

i am definitely a type A personality so there's that..

I know all that, I follow your post back then. Didn’t know your S/C project was a bust. I’m still driving a boosted truck at almost 64, with a loud stereo. I hope I never grow up. I really do try not disturb people. When I was younger I didn’t care, so I guess I grew up some, maybe. [emoji106]

State Patrol here is very happy to go after the idiots who roll coal and appreciate folks who call in to report the losers that do this.  I've called in 2 trucks that have been purposely rolling coal.  State Patrol caught one of them and asked if I would like to be a witness (they also witnessed it) I said HELL YEAH!  I had the losers on camera doing the act.  Never got notified by the county to come to court, so I am assuming they pleaded guilty and paid the fines before the judge.

As a Tesla owner I have experienced this several times. I don't get why using new technology deserves to be shit on by old technology.

I recently read an article that some believe recycling and being green has a feminine connotation to it. So does that mean being rude, inconsiderate, and destroying the planet is masculine and that is why they roll coal?

Rolling coal is definitely a very bad thing but what’s up with recycling, is the US still recycling even though China doesn’t want our garbage. In addition, even Houston Tx along with many other major metropolitan cities have shut down recycling. To me, it’s all politically motivated, take E85 for instance, we’ve been lied to about it being so cheap and much better for the environment which in reality, the government is actually having the American tax payers flip the bill for the majority of the manufacturing and it’s actually far worse for the environment than gasoline. I’d love to have an electric truck capable to surpass my Sierra in towing and exceed my current mileage but that’s going to be far far far away especially since the manufacturing and disposal of lithium batteries is extremely toxic for the environment and no one even brings that up either.

Here’s a little clip on the production, effects and the reality of E85.

Yes, lithium battery recycling is still in its infancy but does that mean not to try new technologies? Diesel trucks were 60 times more polluting 30 years ago than they are today.

I wanted to wait for the Tesla truck but realized there is no infrastructure for it. Current Tesla charging stations are made for their current cars and SUVs. There is no way a truck is going to fit in those charging spaces. And there is no way to conveniently charge when towing. It's going to take at least 5-10 years for them to build out a truck charging network.

Back on topic, I like how those coal rolling asshats pretend they're removing emissions equipment to bulletproof the engine.

Agreed on the Rolling Coal AssHats but back to the additional effects from using a battery, Id LOVE to have the battery truck option but that’s going to be a long ways away and it’s currently having a very negative affect as well. European countries are adding taxes to batteries as the fees are helping to pay for companies to come up with solutions to the barrage of nightmares associated with battery recycling, doesn’t mean we should stop there but we also shouldn’t only point the finger at the use of fossil fuel as capitalizing on battery operated cars are just as bad for the environment and in some cases worse, currently [emoji6]

Yesterday, while driving to my local hardware store, a lifted 2500 Chevy truck was in front of me, I thought to myself “WTH” the driver was purposely speeding and blowing black soot at other vehicles, I also noticed the driver and passenger were laughing about it (AHoles!)

About 30 minutes later, as I was returning home I saw the same truck but this time it was pulled over by 3 sheriff department vehicles and at least 5 large tow trucks behind them. The driver and passenger were outside of the truck and they looked to be in their 30’s.

Being a pickup truck owner has its added responsibilities as it is but these idiots give pickup owners a VERY BAD name and WTH is up with rolling coal? Polluting the environment is what put all these restrictions on our vehicles in the first place, these idiots had their lifted truck towed away and last I saw both were in the back seat of the sheriff’s vehicle.

Only excuse for rolling coal is a farmer (who feeds us btw) pulling a 40' toolbar or a coal-fired steam locomotive on a historical or tourist run.

They don't even need to do that with steam locomotives. UP4014 Big Boy is converted to run on No. 5 Fuel Oil!
