Resetting Brake Pad Monitor

Recommended Posts

Dealer did the software update but didnt reset the monitor (2000 miles). Is there a way to do this or is something the dealer has to do?

I've had the truck (19 crew cab) a month and waiting on parts for the "jingle jingle " at the front axle, several recalls have been done, 1st attempt done to stop the leaking back glass, which is still leaking, and had the transmission flush. Starting to wish I'd kept my 18 double cab.

I checked mine before I left the lot and they had to take it to the back to reflash it again and it worked fine the second time.

they have to go through GDS and preform a reset procedure for both front and rear.

this is after they perform the bulletin to update the software.

HOWEVER if its over 6000 the bulletin says not to reset the pad life.

i have done 5 of these in the last week at work.

Mine had 1900 miles when they did the software update. It was showing front 84% rear 89% and still showing the same thing with 3000 miles. Probably not worrying about it since there are more important things to fix, like the rear window leak and the front end "jingle jingle".
