Well, I'm the lucky owner of a 1946 1/2 ton that was given to me. Unfortunately, it is such a state of negelct that it needs a complete body-off resto.

I'm also in the uncomfortable postion of having 3 "classic" vehicles. "Rusty", as I call the 46 is the least road-ready of the three. My others, a 4x4 Ford Bronco and a 73 Mercury Cougar are futher along in resto. I was wondering if any one had any interesting ideas for the 46's Resto Mod.

Thanks.

No ideas on restoring here, but once you get that 46 chevy restored, PLEASE post some pics. That sounds like a nice project. I have a 1959 Jeep FC 150 I plan to restore someday, but till I start working on one, I do not have any suggestions.

Want Pics? hmmm..... gonna hafta find where I hosted them to IMG them here...... Unless I can upload to the forum directly. I have some pics of when I first got it in March.

I was kinda thinking of a V8 and an auto or 4spd. I was also toying with the idea of a 4wd frame uner it. Any ideas of different things to do with a classic?

  • 4 weeks later...

I have a 53 Chevy 3100 that I am currently working on. I didn't start the project but got it part of the way through. As soon as I find a place to upload the pics I will post them here.

As far as ideas, the one I want to do next is a crew cab. I was thinking about maybe using around a 99 crew cab chassis with the rear doors suicidal. That would take care of your chassis, suspension, and motor. You would have to buy another cab and chassis but the outcome would be awesome.

46Rusting,

It doesn't look like you can upload pics on this forum. If you don't have an image host, try www.imagestation.com. They have a nice setup, allow a decent amount of storage, and best of all it's free.

I'll have to jump in like everyone else, and say-
