Headlight Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I bought 2020 2500 6.6L Gas a few weeks ago and immediately was disappointed in the headlight color output and the narrow path it projects. However, The fog lights are the higher color temperature that is nice and clear seeing (for the little distance they project of course). The regular beam headlights are dull color and are very difficult for seeing at night. The high beams are the same color temperature as the regular beams, yet plenty of output for high beams. I would really like to upgrade the regular beams & high beams to match the fog lamps color temperature and assuming the output for the regular beams would be better then what came as OEM.

I am not wanting to put some aftermarket deep blue or anything that blinds anyone, but I am certain the regular beams are below par for a 2020 vehicle. With the clarity and color temperature the fog lights put out, it seems as if the factory didn't have the correct bulbs to put into the headlight or something during production. This has been very shocking with buying a 2020 2500. My 2016 1500 has better headlights then this 2020 2500, no doubt.

Anyone know how to find out the color temperature of the fog lamps in order to purchase that same color temperature for the regular & high beam headlights?

Local part stores don't have any headlight options showing in their system yet, but I lean towards thinking they are likely a standard bulb used in previous years, especially with the headlights still being halogen and not LED.

I thought the same think with my LT package and started this thread.

There is some good info on replacement LED's in the 2019-2020 1500 series truck forum on here too. I haven't purchased anything yet, but need to soon as driving through a rain storm the other night was a reminder as how poor the stock headlights are.
