Plastic Quarter Panel Storage

There was a discussion on RV.net about storage. In the past the Big 3 tried offer outside access storage but these compartments were rusting badly. Now that GM has plastic quarter panels on the duallies I can easily envision a rust free plastic storage compartment. As a matter of fact the space on the inside of the box, in front of the wheel well could be incorporated in that storage compartment. I think this would be a better idea than a door on the cab end of the box as shown on the concept vehicles. I hope GM is listening!

the Titan has one on the back driver side quarter panel, didn't like it at first but could come in extremely helpful when towing.
