I would check around with dealers and Carmax. The dealers here wanted my Colorado so bad they were contacting me about it I ended up trading it in for the Silverado  I paid 27,000 for the Colorado and traded it in 2 years later for 22,500 it gave me 3,500 on it towards the new truck. While not a killing but a good deal for me and the dealer I bought the Silverado from.

You got some bad advice.  Not only did they give me a low-ball offer, which I declined, but now they keep calling, texting and e-mailing me, even though I've told them a number of times no further contact is necessary.  Carmax, on the other hand, gave me a much better offer, and they've only sent me one reminder e-mail.  I wound up using craigslist and got a full-price offer within hours that was several thousand dollars more than even Carmax.
