Free Brake pads on GM

Recommended Posts

The service bulletin was apparently updated to only allow brake pad replacement on Cadillacs. They measured my pads, they are fine. Computer was reset to where the pads are.
Oh well. Figured it was too good to be true anyway.

LOL. Wish I would have read this 10 minutes ago. I just gave the service department a hard time about saying this didn’t apply to my truck.

Interesting.  I was scrolling thru the menus on my 19 AT4 with 12,400 miles and was shocked to see the brake pad monitor displated front pads had 33% and rear 65% of pad life remaining.  I'm pretty certain I'm 99% harder on brakes than the average driver but to have them almost gone is a stretch even under my torturous usage.

Ok so if I want a dealer to address this on a 6 month old truck, do I just ask them to? Are they obliged to do it or can they refuse if it’s not an actual “recall”? Same applies to all TSB’s I guess?

Seems like they just update the computer. They didn't even "recalculate it to what it should be" like they told me they were going to. Picked up the truck and I had 100% pad life left.
