2019 vs 2016-17 models

I came from a 2015 and have no regrets moving into my '19. There is some good deals to be had now on the T1. I would chose a brand new

truck any day over a pre-owned if the situation permits. Nothing like that new car smell and fresh warranty. In my humble opinion, that is worth

more than the extra features of a high end Denali. Good luck in your search!

"when they said our truck more because the seat are made ants hide"

Can honestly say I have never heard of this option......

Lol I was joking around. I'm horrible at typing. What I meant to say

The seats are made out of ants hide - implying how rare and special they are.

I'm tellin ya man, these new 2019 T1 trucks are freakin awesome. 22.5 mpg not to mention all the other things about the new T1's.....

No doubt I would opt for the T1.

I have to agree on the T1 is better. I like the ride better and forward visibility. Also, like you said the fuel economy is outstanding for being v8

That makes a lot more sense, was thinking I did not want a truck with ants hiding in the seats.

So there is an LT that has an MSRP of $50,820 but it has 4k miles on from being a loaner.  They are offering it at $37k does that sound reasonable?  4k seems like a lot of miles for a "brand new" truck IMO.

They can be driven X-amount of miles before considered used.

I would check to make sure the factory bumper to bumper starts at the current miles and ends 36000 miles after that. Same with the 3 year in service date, starts when you sign paperwork.

Make them an offer (within reason), worse case is they say no.

There was an earlier discussion regarding loaner/demo sales reflecting a wide range of opinions.  A vehicle with 4K miles is used, imo, and should be treated and priced accordingly.   You are considering buying used anyway and this loaner sounds like a good compromise.  However, be sure that there is a definite and substantial cost saving from buying a truck fresh off of the train.

I like buying near the end of a production cycle. You get the most features offered for that model run and most of the bugs are worked out. Example, Adaptive Cruise control is offered on 2020 T1XX. Suspension has been retuned on 2020 T1XX. Supposedly Interior is being redesigned in 2021.

If you can get a K2xx for 25% off MSRP or more, go K2XX. If you can get a T1XX for nearly 20% off MSRP go T1XX.

Of course it's really up to you and what will make you happy.

Both are good trucks, the Engines are nearly identical since 2014 except for AFM vs DFM cylinder deactivation. I have had good luck with my 8 speed, I imagine the 10 speed is even better with closer gear ratios and better tuned shifting.

Whatever you get post some pics [emoji846]
Suspension has been retuned on 2020 T1XX.

Does anyone have any specifics on this? I see the tow rating for AT4 went up on 2020 models, but I have no idea what they changed specifically.

LDW/ Safety Alert Seat is the same now as it was in the K2s. The LT T1 he’s looking at won’t have it, and the K2s he’s looking at probably do.

In my experience, DFM is a much much smoother than AFM. While I don’t necessarily want my truck running on 1 cylinder, it feels smoother on 1 than my K2 did on 4. Auto stop sucks but they do give you a button to turn it off.

For driving dynamics alone...steering feel, engine & transmission tuning, braking...I would take the T1 and give up some luxury (while still gaining some really handy new features like keyless go, remote tailgate, rear AC vents).

Not to mention you get the full warranty. 2-3 years old, and nearing 50k is going to be out of the bumper to bumper. Powertrain warranty not far behind....early 8 speed issues anyone?

Well looks like I have worked out a deal for a Z71 RST w/ the 5.3 for $42k OTD.  The MSRP is just under $52k so I figure thats the best I am going to get on a Crew Cab RST.  Wish me luck!!

Good luck.

I just want to say that Southtowne Chevrolet in Newnan, GA did me right. I bought my RST (crew cab all-star) in June. The price was 38K on the internet. Called the dealership and told them I was interested. They had it right up front when I got there to test drive it and I paid that same internet price with no pressure. MSRP was ~$52,500. Extremely happy with my purchase although I wish I had the extra cameras to help with parking.
