Under Body Seam Sealer Drips

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't sand it as you may sand into the metal.  Maybe a pair of cutting pliers or even a toenail clipper would work.  Recommend dropping the running boards.

Just be careful to only cut the undercoating or whatever it is.  Looks like it is the protective paint layer for rocks and such.

Wouldn't the dealer do this as a customer satisfaction issue?

Yeah it’s called chip guard - unfortunately yours is white which will contrast against any background and show the imperfections. You could try to take it to a dealer but I’m willing to bet the others on the lot look like it too, so they may not do anything about it. Don’t sand it down, you’ll rush breaking thru it and leaving metal exposed.

Every white truck had it to varying degrees.  I think I'll take a try and nip it off a tad.  Dealer said they see it and no big deal, won't hurt anything....um yaaaa.  But looks horrible.  I'd rather take a stab at it than have the prep guys assigned to it which couldn't wash the windows properly LoL.  Thanks guys.
