Exhaust noise from drivers floor?

I’m new here so thank you for your patience. I bought a new 2018 Sierra SLE 4WD Crew Cab in November 2017. Within a few months of ownership, I began to notice what sounds like exhaust noise from the drivers firewall/floor area when feathering the gas at various speeds. It’s especially apparent in 4 cylinder mode but I hear it in both modes. It’s driving me absolutely nuts. The dealer says that there is nothing wrong and it’s just lifter noise. Thoughts?

I have a similar noise. I have monitored the fluttering thread that has been ongoing but haven't been able to hear an audio sample from that issue to confirm if it's what I'm experiencing. Mine sounds almost like an air leak somewhere in the floorboard or firewall at various pedal positions. 

 

Do you have an audio or video of the noise you're hearing?

If I was a betting man, it’s the same issue outlined in the thread below.  I’ve had this noise since day 1 with my 2015 (almost like a rattle snake noise from the footwell under acceleration).  Followed this fix this weekend and the noise is completely gone.  Worth a shot.

Yup, that's the thread I was referencing. I wish I had a sound clip from someone with that issue to compare.

Wow! That was quick! Thanks for the info! The sound in the video samples is exactly what I hear. Now I have something I can take to the dealer to give them an idea of what to look for. I’ll keep you posted!

So there is a TSB for this for 2018s. Its basically a poorly seated steering shaft seal.

Took my truck to the dealership with the GM bulletin in hand (the service guy rolled his eyes at me) and they said they couldn’t hear the noise. I also had them look into suspension noise and shocker...they couldn’t hear that either. Pretty certain that they’ll find all the problems the day after the warranty expires. 
 

All regrets from this GMC Sierra owner. It’s been nothing but hassles and frustrations with this truck: exhaust tick noise, suspension noise, body panels not fitting flush, tailgate strikers falling off all the time, a buzzing sound from under the dash when I open the door, hard downshifts and lastly a body that leans to the left. I won’t let anyone I know buy a GM product. I got burned.

Buy the steering shaft seal and replace it, and pack it with grease. Cost me $25 from amazon and it’s been quiet for 3 months since I did it. I previously sprayed grease into the old boot which worked for about 6 months, either way cheap fix.
