The GM fullsizers still have them but when they're replaced next year, the next gen SUV's won't have a CD player. I'm guessing they still have a CD player for now due to the fact that they're still using the old version of the MyLink infotainment system.

I believe it's also how they run the current rear DVD players. Maybe the next gen will retain it as a consequence of this, or move to an alternative rear setup.

Or they'll just charge even more to put it back in

There is actually a USB CD player, that you just connect to your USB and can work with your system to easily add in a CD player with no real work needed for installation (unless you wanted to).  Super easy, and could just use some double sided tape or velcro to just put in an easy spot.  So there IS a CD player solution if you want to use it.

1 - On Crew Cab model replaced by (U42) rear seat DVD/Blu-Ray Entertainment Package when (U42) Entertainment Package is ordered.

 

Was available in 2019 1500's on the 'limited' models (the old body style ones)

Also on 2019 HD's 

 

Doesn't seem to appear in order guide for 2019 'all new' 1500's and also not in any 2020's.
