Diablo I3 vs. Superchips F5 power gains/custom tuning

Recommended Posts

I drive a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 30k miles... I have a 2.5 lift with 20X10 hostiles with 33in tires and Cold air intake, looking for some more power and no more throttle lag. I am stuck between Diablo I3 and superchips F5 flashpaq. Does anyone have any insight or opinions on which tuner being better than the other. Appreciate all comments!!

I'm no expert on this topic, I know a lot of guys on here are gonna tell you to go custom tune from what I've read on here but I just installed a basic 87 octane tune with the Superchips F5 and I love it, I came from Rams with Hemi's and I loved the way they ran stock, when I got this Silverado it seemed so sluggish and mushy shifts, always hunting for the right gear and no throttle response at all. It is now a completely different truck. Mine is a 17 LTZ with 33's 2.25 level and 3.08 gears. Another bonus was to be able to turn off V4 mode. There is 6 different tunes with many options within those 6 tunes. Hope this helps, I know you're gonna get a lot of different opinions in this thread.

I like the superchips tuner. While a custom tune will always be the best, if you change tire size and gears on the regular the hand held will let you make the changes as you want. A custom tune will require you return to the tuner for the changes.

Tuner will make it shift way better with the bigger tires.

Get a HPT MPVI 2 and have it tuned it works on many vehicles and allows unlimited changes. Also can scan and disable codes.
Tunes are cheap and once your unlocked you can change it or have a shop do it or even to remote or email tunes.

I have the Diablo I3 with a custom tune by Lew. There is significantly more throttle response, firmer shifts and the best part is the V4 delete. I can change change the tire sizes when needed or return the truck to stock for dealer visits. It’s super simple and from what I researched, the best bang for the buck.

I keep hearing about (Lew) associated with Diablo, new to the tune world can you explain what that is? And yes I agree superchips seems  finicky

Lew is a guy that does custom tunes for Diablo tuners. You buy the I3 and a tune from him. You then log certain parameters on your truck then send them to him. He’ll then build u a custom tune

Some miss information here. Lew is a tuner and he uses a that device. I don't believe diablo is directly associated with him.
Not the best bang for the buck at all. The hpt is. If you say cheap then maybe. But the HPT can do unlimited car and different brands also will allow read scan and data without license.
When comparing with others it has all same option plus more.
What is best is the HPT support is best. You can make your money back and by sell device as your truck is unlocked so truck can roll into a shop and they can plug in there HPT and change anything. You can post files and get help.
There is more hpt used then others when it comes to the pro shops. 2nd would be efi live.
