Help my back is killing me

As someone with a back that has landed me in bed for days, a diet change helped quite a bit. For some reason, I am very susceptible to inflammation. The pain was excruciating and it got better whenever I was in bed because I wasn't drinking Coke or eating candies out of the jar. Now, it's healthy food and I try to eat food that lessens inflammation such as eating more tomato sauce, more olive oil, and avoiding alcohol and sugar. And it also got rid of my psoriasis I had for over ten years too, it's also a form of inflammation.

Going to the chiropractor didn't work and I was still getting shooting pains in my back when the discs bulged and pinched the nerves. Nobody would operate on it because the discs were fine, just inflammed. I had cortisone shots and the doctor suggested a diet change which did wonders for my back. Now, I'm working on stretching it again because I was stiff for over three years!

It could be the seats, I like the seat in my 2020 but I hated the seats in my 2017 Chevy Silverado to the point I had to sell it with only 42000 miles and I took a bath. Both have lumbar and heated and cooled seats but that 2017 was brutal on my lower back. Before I bought a 2020 I rented one for a week to see. I never could figure out why that 17 hurt me like it did. So lucky buddy I know what your going threw.

I broke T12 and L1 over 15 years ago. It was bad enough that it took me out of the Marines. I don't mind the seats in my 2020 Silverado. I've had it 4 months, and already have 7,300 miles on it. Most of that came from moving from Virginia Beach, VA to San Diego, CA. We took the long route and a month. I haven't any back pain that I can remember while in this truck. My 2008 Saturn Outlook was a different story.

With two-way lumbar support it is a luck of the draw on how you fit.  My two other vehicles have 4-way lumbar support, which means I can dial the support exactly where I need it. That said, the AT4's seat's lumbar support is not ideal, but close enough for me. I've sold other cars because the 2-way lumbar support hit me to low on my spine and "hurt" more than helped.

I have been driving the heck out of my Denali and not one single back issue. Love the seats.

I had rented a Tundra and it was brutal on my back as well, took months to recover.

My Trax seats are horrible, but that stays at my cabin for quick trips to town.

The Wrangler is surprising good.

I would totally recommend you see a chiropractor. It will definitely solve your pain. After I had a minor car crash, I began to have severe back pains. I passed lots of medical tests, but the result was that it isn't a medical condition. Many people recommended me to see diamondchiroomaha.com. He is known to be one of the best chiropractors in the US with the best team. He was the only specialist that really listened to my issues and treated them. I would not go or choose elsewhere! I feel so much better now.

I hear you on the original poster here, the gmt900 and K series seats leave a lot to be desired imo. The gmt-800 seats were basically lazy boy recliners, the seats in my 2014 are not even on the same playing field with how far a step back they were, and it's not like the k series and up trucks didn't have the interior room for them either!
