Fluctuating RPMs & Sluggish Acceleration Responce

Hello everyone,

I am new here. I finally got an account, because everytime I have a truck issue, I search Google and it sends me here. If my issues was covered in another thread,  please respond with those links. On with the issue.

 

My RPMs are fluctuating even when I am in cruise control. If I turn on my tow-N-haul the RPMs fluctuate higher. Watch my Youtube Video of what is happening. Do you think it is a transmission issues or something else that is telling the transmission to shift as if it is going into "grade active mode" I do not have codes after they were cleared after i had the oil pressure sensor/switch was replaced. The video was prior to getting oil sensor replaced, but is still doing the samething.

Something in the back of my mind is screaming vaccum leak.
2nd thing is trans slip. But sure that is just me being trans paranoid.

Is it shifting back a gear or three or just spinning up like that?

Likely. 165,212 miles showing on the clock. It has a trans temp reading in the DIC center cluster. (not shown)

Not always and there is a hot table for overheating at 212* trans temp.

Oh after watching the video it is one of two things. Trans or tm reduction issue. Plug in a scanner and you will know quick. Tb is reduced so something in trans is stopping the rpms.

That is what it is doing. It is like tow and haul or Grade Assist Active is always on.

Everything is normal when I put it in manual. I even can turn on my tow and haul and is all normal.

I did have a rebuilt tranny put in December 2018.

Update: Still having the issues. I went to O'Reilly's and they checked codes for me. P06DD and an old one that I had for awhile, P0446. I am going to blow out the filter 1st on that one.

As one of the steps to solve the P06DD code is to change the oil. I also put Seafoam in my oil so I am not wasting an oil change. This time I got a oil filter designed for 0W20 oil. I do not know if it matters or not. I did not have this issue prior to changing my oil in November. This Saturday when i get to our property in Missouri I will change oil and got enough miles for the seafoam to do its thing! Here is a like for more detailed info on the code P06DD.

As of 9/9/19, found out through another another thread that you can hold the tow and haul button for 5 to 7 Seconds to deactivate the "grade braking" so that issue has been somewhat postponed until I can figure out how to fix the grade braking sensor. I still have issues with loss of power. I'm going to attempt to do the smoke test through the air intake to see if I have a vacuum leak.
