I'm the same.  I've used a 1/2 ton as my daily driver for decades.  My '09 was almost traded in on a small SUV as a cost saving strategy but improvements in the Ecoboost line of engines were enough to keep me in a truck.  The engine options in the T1's suggest that GM also see's the market as being concerned about mpg's.  I live in an area that often boasts the highest fuel prices in North America.  1 or 2 mpg is a big deal and translates to a fair chunk of money after a few months of ownership.
