Anyone know part number for trailer camera that plugs into ports on rear bumper?

Recommended Posts

I also broke my cable at the end where it attaches to the truck. After some trial and error I was able to find the right connection from Amazon to fix it back. Here’s the link to the connection, for under $10 it was a lot cheaper than buying another $400 camera!

Got my trailer camera installed yesterday. It's a 16' cargo trailer with a 7' interior height, so 8'+ tall outside. It had to be mounted on the roof b/c of the drop down ramp door, yet the invisible camera still works. I've heard that the longer the trailer, the harder it is to get the invisible camera to work...

Started mine on the roof but had calibration issues. Moved it to the ramp door and it calibrates easier.

If you increase the dimension between the center of ball on front of trailer a few inches it will make transparent image not as wide and blend with surroundings better.  Note: if you change your dimensions will need to re-calibrate.

HELP!!!!!

I ordered a rear camera trailer from GMC Dealer part number: 84946379 which replaced part number 84580657.  This camera only works in the inside trailer view plug.  It had to be forced into the rear trailer vamera plug but was a perfect fit for the inside trailer view camera plug.  The camera view can be displayed while plugged into this slot but you won't see any picture if you plug this camera in the rear trailer camera view plug.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the rear trailer view camera? It's important to note that all the following part numbers all point back to "84946379" which is definitely not the correct camera for rear trailer view:

84518122

84876818

Thanks for reading.

Its the same camera, you just have to turn the plug 180 to switch connections. If you didn't turn the connector you may not be getting it seated all the way.

I ordered these and was able to get the connector on the cable but it seems i need the female end not the male?? The part that is in the truck appears to be the male?

To kf9yr: I have the same connector that hptulsa showed above from a GMC camera. I need to have someone fix my connector that has come apart from the coaxial cable. You mentioned that if he were in Phoenix you could fix it. I am in Gilbert and would like to make contact with you to see if you could help me. I am desperate to get my camera working.

Please email me at [email protected] or call/text me at 6023171974. Thanks

I have it.  This camera is garbage! Bought it with a new 2020 3500 HD diesel Sierra in July of 2020. Truck been at dealership now at least 6 times and GM doesn’t know how to get the camera working.
pn 84946379

today after my truck was at the dealership all day yesterday.  Now told they need a trailer with brakes to get the camera diagnosed.  Like wtf does trailer brakes have to do with the camera working.  My advice.   By a Ford truck.

i bought a portable trailer light turn signal kit.  Showed the dealership while plugged in the lights work, in plug and truck shows trailer disconnected.  They still want a trailer with working brakes.  No info on this stupid GM accessory required a trailer with brakes.  What brakes, disk, air, drum!  Like really.
