2021 Silverado/Sierra interior update coming

Sometimes too much is just too much. Less is more.

I love the simplicity of my 2018 WT base model! I bought it because it was basic and not all the gadgets and gizmos on the interior. I use my truck for a truck and love the simplicity and less things to break.

The new 2021 GMC Yukon was revealed on 1/14/2020.  Below link shows a few pictures of the new interior. The Denali version has an embedded 10.0-inch touchscreen and the AT4 has a tablet-like 10.0-inch touchscreen. These options might transition to the 2021 GMC Sierra interior:

The regular Yukon has the same interior as the new Tahoe. The Denali seems to have the same interior of some of the leaked Escalade interior.

I know everyone is going to say it’s a  truck but is love the interior of the new Denali in a new AT4 truck.

I get stopped a lot with my 19 sierra slt also,  about half want to know about the multi pro tail gate, but all love the way the truck looks...

I've had a lot of vehicles over the years and all of them get compliments.  I get compliments on my 18 Silverado, I'd get them if I had a 18 F150 and 18 Ram too. There's a lot of people out there and different people like different things.

The fact that Silverado is now the #3 truck for the first time ever is proof they messed up in a few areas.  They've always been more expensive than Ram and always sold more.  They've never been #3 and never had such bad reviews.  Doesn't mean they're bad, but they need improvement.  It's going to be as hard to get market share back as it was to lose it. Truck buyers are loyal and they made more than a few small mistakes to lose so much share.

Absolutely love my 2019 T1 truck including the interior. But I agree that Denali interior with the integrated screen would look slick in the trucks!  Hate how the non Denali versions have the screen projecting above the dash. One of my biggest pet peeves in vehicles it just looks like an afterthought.

Definitely push button. You can see the “P” is red yet the “slider” is in neutral. GM does some stupid stuff but they wouldn’t do a slider for the gear shifter. Push button will be nice. Different but nice. I also have no issue with the column shifter either.

What makes you think it is a slider? Looks like it is stationary to me. Logically placed there to orient a driver reaching down to distinguish the RND buttons by feel instead of having to look down at the buttons to select the proper gear, i.e N button is next to the upraised plastic piece, R next to the indentation above and D next to the indentation below the plastic piece. Comes in handy when the dash lights are low or off at nighhtime.

Tomcat I don’t think it’s a slider. If you see the post I quoted people were thinking it could be a slider. So that’s why I referenced it as one. I’m also saying if it was a slider that means it would be in neutral and not park.

As from my post I say definitely push button.

I might be in the minority, but seeing these "new" interiors on the SUVs makes me very happy to have a 2020.  I like my Sierra AT4 interior more than any of these designs.
I love my simple 2018 WT model! I can't stand over blown interiors with all the gadgets and gizmos

I really really hope they change the AT4 interiors like the Yukon.  I've bought new GMC's since 1993 and I'm still in my 2015 SLT because GMC has literally done nothing to really upgrade.  Sure a little different body, maybe a little different transmission,  a couple of frivolous changes like a tail gate and the interiors have always stayed the same since 2014.  I'm seriously considering a ram because of this.  Not only is there new interior technology enhanced, they've also added a bunch of stuff in the interior that set's it apart, like the console (it's amazing with the configuration options), the tiedowns in the back seat compart are brilliant, the rear underseat storage if you want it,, air suspension, panoramic sunroof, I could go on and on.  I hate Ram but dang they took this to a new level and I want GMC to step up because I'm getting tired of my truck but not paying so much more for basically the same damn thing.  GMC engineers should be the finest in the world, surely they got this covered in 2021 or I'll be forced to make the shift.

I just wish they'd change the AT4's interior color palate. Black/orange is kind of weird.

You sound like you are in the same place i was a year ago. I wanted out of my 2014 bad but what i saw in the 2019’s i could not bring by self to buy i one. After 30 plus years of GM truck ownership I ended up in a Ram. I have zero regrets and like you said its on a different level. If you are ready and that is the truck you like pull the trigger. Life is too short to not be happy with what you are driving.
