Not sure why they want you to take the spring off, put the spacer on and compress the crap out of it. I feel like it would ruin the ride.???? I did this on my Trail Boss and did use the spring spacer. Looking back I would just skip it. It's only .25 inches and it did help the ride slightly but not worth the time it took to do it. Good to know yea I wasn’t about to mess with it. 1 I didn’t understand why they would include it in the kit since it doesn’t effect the overall height. 2. I thought it would bind up why coil like crazy. 3. Time! Haha. The ride feels stock, still need to do an alignment but waiting for the new wheels and tires to go on first. 20chevy19
I am currently debating on this lift but I drive 70 miles a day. How bad did it affect the fuel mileage ? Thanks

How bad did it affect the fuel mileage ? Thanks Hard to say. Really depends on a lot of things. Mainly what wheels and tires you go with and your gearing. I have yet to calibrate my speedo so the mileage is gonna be off a bit or maybe a lot I’m not sure. But with my 5.3 with 3.23 gearing(?? I forget??) I was getting 22-27 mpg. Now I’m getting about 16-18mpg. Keep in mind this is with using auto start warm up in the morning and letting the truck run while at the job site at times. I have yet to take it on a good long trip but I doubt I’ll see the 20 mpg mark... let’s just say I was quite surprised at the drop in MPG... 20chevy19
Thanks satin, that’s a huge drop I never seen twenty’s i avg 18 if I stay around 70mph I was thinking I could get atleast 16mpg on 20x12 with 33 or 35 with the lift . And I have the 3.42 rear gears

I took a longer trip over the summer with the stock wheels/tires and my “best 50miles” was 27.4mpg.
Dunn
that's crazy......absolute best I have seen is 19 on stock 4x4 RST with stock tires and body height.....why do you suppose your getting that MPG?....I only have 5k miles on my truck, did you see better gains after some miles racked on motor.....and how is your calculation measured, by cluster info that it gives?..... SatinSilvy
No idea maybe my gearing? It’s set up for highway driving, I think it’s 3.23’s in it, I gotta check the window sticker. But also I’m at relatively low elevation less than 1,000’ so I’ll see better MPG than say someone in Colorado. this was also when the truck had less than 2,000 miles on it. Now I have about 7k. Those 20mpgs are gone with the lift and tires. Edited December 14, 2019 by SatinSilvy
Dunn
yeah I know lift kills MPG....I live on beach in so cal.....3.23 is stock gearing isn't it, believe I have same.....maybe gas is better out there idk
