What is your 2020's ACTUAL Payload?

Standard bed Duramax, right?

If so, then it means the fully loaded Denali Duramax combination will reduced the published payload by 450-490lbs.

I know most trucks will be diesel, but has anyone seen a Denali with the gas engine and gotten it’s payload?

Yea, standard bed Duramax.

They will probably get the 2020 version of the Online Weight Calculator going soon.

Eliminates a lot of the guess work.

Has pick lists for frame, 2wd/4wd, gas/diesel, trim, snowplow prep, etc, etc and then spits out weight and payload info.

There were generalized charts for many configurations included in the chev press release about the time of the intro that was done at the Flint assy.

Anyone actually scale out a new 2020 2500 full of fuel to see what the actual payload available is?  Both gas and diesel versions.

I have been researching the 2020 3500HD, diesel, 4x4, SRW, crewcab trims to find the actual payload.  It annoys me that they don't provide this information on the window sticker.  I have to beg sales people to go to the lot and take a photo of the sticker.  I have a few real vehicle examples now so here's the numbers:

Base payload for 2020 3500HD, diesel, 4x4, SRW, crewcab:   GVWR  12250   GAWRFRT  5600     GAWRRR   7250    Payload  4078

Example 3500HD (WT base) + WT Convenience + 5th wheel prep + Z71                                                                           Payload 3902

Example 3500HD (LT base) + AllStar + Convenience II + front bucket seats + assist steps + 5th wheel prep + Z71  Payload 3855

Example 3500HD (LTZ base) + 5th wheel prep + Skid plates                                                                                                 Payload 3805

You can get the curb weight by subtracting the Payload from the GVWR.  All three vehicles have 18" wheels

I have the 2020 Sierra 2500 AT4 HD Duramax. Crew Cab Standard Bed 4WD. Sticker on the door shows 8k lbs for the truck with just over 3k payload.

I am the only one who find it hilarious you can get a gas engine truck that is rated for more than the Diesel in the same size truck configuration? I know that historically a CCLB gas truck will weigh more than a DCLB Diesel. Someone post up the numbers for a RCSB 3500 dually if you have one.

I guess it does make sense since the engine is heavier but I am surprised by this also.  Seems like the upper trims do tack on way to much weight.  The reason why I looked at the 2020 HD was because of the large increase in payload.  They did an excellent job there, no doubt!  But after saying that, I am glad I went with the Gas 6.6 (and lower trim = LT Z71 20 inch tires) and which allowed me to have a payload of 3488 pounds.

seems very common for gas trucks to have higher payloads than their diesel counterparts, no?
