Nevada train derailment

now they get 2020's!

At a higher price? They ordered a 19, priced agreed upon on a 19. Would be an interesting conversation for sure, the crash isn’t the dealers fault so they shouldn’t take the hit, not GM’s fault so they shouldn’t take the hit, it’s the transportation’s fault and they’ll be paying GM but not the consumer since it’s not the consumers vehicle yet. Again, should be interesting.

In 1970 my dad worked for the railroad and came home from work and said lets go look at a minor railroad accident.  Two railroad cars loaded with brand new Plymouth Fury's had broke loose and rolled down through the rail yard and crashed into a string of rail cars that were stopped.  There were 5 Fury's per level and 3 levels per rail car.  The rail car that took the brunt of the impact had 6 Fury's on it because one Fury broke loose from the second rail car and jumped across.  All the rest of the Fury's (24) were undamaged.  However they were all declared a total loss.  The railroad untied all of the Fury's and connected a chain to them with the other end connected to a locomotive.  Yup, even from the top level they were dragged off and some were really ugly after they landed.  One Fury had its rear end standing straight up perpendicular to the ground.  I might still have the pictures somewhere but it was really sad to see brand new cars destroyed.

We just had a train derailment here in the tunnel joining Canada to the US. Every car on that train was a write off, damaged or not. I'd say it was a shame, but in this case they were all Caravans and Toyota's, so no real lose. Would have loved to have been able to scoop a few Fury's for cheap, especially if any were 440ci cars.

I watched the carnage of new mini Van's being dismembered.  Crazy

Don't worry, Jack Carter Chev and other similarly sketchy dealerships can always repair them and pass them off as brand new.

No new truck is ever truly destroyed. Dealers will just advise the customers that their new ride was delayed in shipment, and worth the wait,  because it was one of the few chosen for extended quality assurance examination and testing to provide a long and trouble free life of ownership.
