New TB Owner. Some questions.

Hello. New to the group. Got a new TB two days ago with the 5.3 and 6spd. So far loving the truck. Wanted some feedback from you guys. I usually never purchase a first gen vehicle, but I fell in love with the trail boss and couldn't resist. Since I know first gen anything will have bugs, was wondering what bugs has the new 19s had so far? My only concern so far is the engine oil cooler line failing and dumping all the oil. Seen quite a bit of guys needing new engines. Anyone know how prevalent the problem is? Thanks guys.

Depending on your build date you may have a leaky window. It's not an uncommon problem but it does seem to be limited to vehicles built prior to 10/18 (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

That's the first I've heard of bad oil cooler lines, how many cases have you heard of??

I have basically the same truck as you (RST with all the options). I’ve had no bugs at all after 3,000 miles. Some harsh shifting from time to time in the first 1500 miles, but it’s smoothed out a lot since.

There are a lot of threads on here with issues reported: oil line failures, jingling noises in RWD, leaky rear windows for early fall 2018 builds, fish eye back up camera views from time to time, etc.

I’ve had none of these problems, knock on wood. My only issue is with the poor performance of the Rancho shocks that come on the non-TB Z71 packages.

6100 miles on my Custom TB Z71 5.3 6 speed not 1 problem

Thanks all for the replies.

It only problem so far has been a stuck tailgate. Press the button, hear the lock trying to disengage but gets caught up. I have to physically wobble the tailgate back and fourth while pressing the button to get it to unstick.

Going back to dealership soon for fix.

Only 200 miles on my LT TB (early June build) but it feels well made, only time will tell but reading the forum seems like they ironed out some of the issues since the earlier builds.

I'm a proud owner of a 2019 Trailboss LT- build date 1/2019. The only issues I have had are one time the info screen went nuts-weird lines, weird flickering, then black. never happened again. Also I have had hard shifts some times, I think its my driving thou, used to driving a 2003HD 4sp auto.
