I had a dent on the front bumper of my '16 SLE. A new bumper was $1600. A friend who has a body shop said the chrome bumper couldn't be fixed. He knocked out the dent, blasted the bumper and color keyed it. Came out great. $250 for the whole thing.

I hear ya bud! That we have . I have a chrome grille on my RST. If you decide to get your bumper painted here's the look you'd have.

Looks great. And to the OP, if it was me I would replace myself and save the hit on insurance and carfax for a small ding.

We’ve found that with AAA having a claim every 3-5 years that isn’t an at fault accident, rates haven’t been jacked much

Isn`t it possible to push out the dent from the inside? Or will the chrome break and make it even worse?

[mention=203066]Philipgonzales3[/mention] I get it’s a new truck and you want it to look great, the first damage is always the hardest. With that said, cars get damaged. I would leave it alone and keep my rates low if I were you.
And yes I am going to report this damage. It’s just too much.
I was looking at a bear out my driver side window while in a curve at 5 mph. The road apparently straighten out but I didn’t. I drove off the road and up onto a boulder I felt my front end lift up and I turned toward the right while braking. My truck came off the boulder and I “high centered” it on my driver side rocker panel.

Did the bear have insurance?

If I was going to replace it ever, I’d do it right away. Why look at it that way for years only to fix it later when you’re probably closer to selling it. Personally, I’d check into the bump out and matching paint repair mentioned. Actually, I’d probably just live with it. It sucks, but stuff happens. They don’t stay pristine forever.

Called the dealer today and the replacement bumper is just shy of $700. That's not bad at all actually. I'll probably order it and swap it out. My insurance deductable is $500 so not much more than that.

Doesn't look too bad so still deciding how bad it bothers me lol.
